A 32-year-old man who allegedly attempted to kill his ex-girlfriend with a pump action gun in Koforidua on Saturday has been arrested by the police.The suspect, Christian Addo, who claimed to be a manager at Emilia Construction Works, is said to have laid ambush near the Kasardjan dual carriageway in Koforidua, where he fired at Abiba Mohammed; 28, with the pump action gun.
Fortunately for Abiba, the only bullet in the gun, which can take five rounds of ammunition, missed her, enabling her to escape unhurt.
She is reported to have immediately called the police in Koforidua, who rushed to the scene to effect Addo’s immediate arrest.
Briefing the Daily Graphic in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) K. Gyamerah Yeboah, said about 3:30.a.m. on Saturday, Addo took the pump action gun and went to lay ambush for Abiba close to the Kasardjan Road.He said when Abiba emerged; Addo fired the gun with the intent to kill her, but missed her in the process.ACP Gyamerah Yeboah said Addo was currently in police custody assisting in investigations.Source: Daily Graphic/Ghana
