Fast-rising comedian and content writer, Kojo PJay, has won the prestigious Comic Writer of the Year award at the 2025 Ghana Comedy Awards.
The event took place on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, drawing together the crème de la crème of Ghana’s comedy and entertainment industry.
Kojo PJay’s award recognises his exceptional skill in crafting witty, engaging, and socially relevant comedic content that resonates with audiences both on stage and online. His work over the past year has earned widespread acclaim for its originality, relatability, and ingenious ability to spark both laughter and thought.
Kojo has written scripts for the there-time Award winning TV Comedy Show, The Half Serious Show which ran three seasons for three years on GHOne TV.
In his acceptance speech, Kojo PJay expressed gratitude to his fans, fellow comedians, and the organisers of the event.
"This is award is dedicated to every Comedian who picks up a pen to write or type on their phones, get up on stage and kill it. To comedy skit writers and to comedy stage play writers. God bless our craft," he said.
He also mentioned in a post on social media that he seeks to push and ensure that Comic writing cat is as revered as Songwriter of the Year at the TGMAs.
Kojo PJay’s win marks a significant milestone in his career and reflects the growing recognition of behind-the-scenes talent in the comedy world. His consistent performances, innovative sketches, and dedication to his craft position him as a leading figure in the next wave of Ghanaian comedic talent.
