Director of Communications at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho has stated emphatically that Ghanaians would reject the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the polls in the 2012 because they have no message of hope for them.Koku Anyidoho was responding to comments by the NPP after Vice President John Dramani Mahama was retained to partner President J.E.A. Mills in the 2012 elections. The NPP argue that Vice President John Dramani Mahama as running mate brings nothing new to the ruling party’s campaign in 2012 since the Mills-Mahama government have failed Ghanaians. The NPP said it is unfazed by President Mills' choice since they would also present an equally competent running mate to partner their flagbearer Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo in election 2012.But Koku Anyidoho on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Programme Friday stressed that the NPP should focus on marketing their flagbearer in their bid to unseat the NDC in 2012.He said the series of press conferences being organised by the NPP over trivial issues shows their desperation to win power at all cost.He noted that the ploy by the NPP to score cheap political points out of concocted lies against the government would rather lead to their defeat in 2012.Koku Anyidoho urged that NPP to focus on their internal problems and present an equally competent running mate to partner Nana Akufo-Addo in 2012.Commenting on suggestions that President Mills went contrary to the NDC's constitution by not consulting the party's founder, former President Rawlings before announcing his running mate, Koku stressed that the President acted in conformity with the party’s constitution in consultation with the National Executive Committee (NEC).He also debunked suggestions that former President Jerry Rawlings is being sidelined by the party.Koku Anyidoho opined that the NDC would fulfill all its promise to Ghanaians.Story by Adwoa Gyasiwaa/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
