Players of Kumasi Asante Kotoko were holed up in their dressing room at the Baba Yara Stadium after slumping to a 3:2 defeat at the hands of visiting Bechem Chelsea.Angry fans were bent on physically attacking the players, and it was the timely intervention of the police who moved to block the menacing march of the restive fans that saved the situation. The fans suspect the players were deliberately playing their games half-heartedly in spite of efforts by the management and technical teams.Ironically, it was Asante Kotoko who raced into an early two-goal lead in this 13th week league encounter, raising hopes of a rebound after defender Prince Boateng finished off a counter-attack while a second followed courtesy an 'own goal' credited to Ofosu Appiah who hurled in a shot for goal.By the 15th minute, Asante Kotoko were two goals up, but surprisingly, that was all they had to offer as the league leaders unleashed a spirited 'reprisal' to end the day at 3:2. Yaw Alexander, Abdul Basit and Emmanuel Clottey were the marksmen for Chelsea. The result left Kotoko with only a point from their last six league games, and the fans believed they had had enough. At Kpando, Accra Hearts of Oak were also forced to surrender an otherwise growing myth after Lions canceled a Douglas Nkrumah first half strike to settle for a one-all draw. Many a Hearts fan held that it was impossible to score again in a game once Nkrumah netted, however Hearts left Kpando with their tails firmly tucked away after a late Lions’ siege almost doubled their own share of the goals. In Tamale, Real Tamale United recorded their second win in the league, seeing off Kessben FC by a lone goal.Liberty Professionals were merciless, pumping four past an otherwise enterprising B.A. Stars at the Carl Reindorf Park, Dansoman, while Ashantigold also shot down defending champions Aduana by a lone goal.Tottering Mighty Jets maintained winning ways and came from a goal down to pip New Edubiase at the Accra Stadium. At Berekum, Arsenals were held to a goalless game by King Faisal just as Wa All Stars also split the points with Dwarfs after playing goalless.
