Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, left Accra Tuesday for trilateral talks on Africa, the United States and China.
A statement signed by the spokesperson to the president, Frank Agyekum said the talks was initiated by the Leon H Sullivan Foundation of the US, and is to examine how the US and China were contributing to the social and economic development of Africa.
Former President Kufuor who is a member of the Board of Governors of the Foundation will address the meeting together with Liberian President, Mrs Sirleaf Johnson.
The three-day meeting to be attended by about 100 delegates, including business executives, academicians, analysts and policy makers from around the world will discuss Africa’s integration into the global economy, agricultural development and strengthening the health sector in Africa.
It will also share experiences from across the world on best practices on corporate social responsibility and how this could impact on Africa’s development.
Former President Kufuor is expected back on Thursday, 25th February 2010.
