Managers of a drinking bar where an alleged rapist had sex with a 19-year-old girl in public have complained about a drop in sales after the incident.
Although they will not give specific figures, they say patronage has declined.
The bar became infamous after twenty-eight-year old Eric Adjei Bawuah seized the young woman at dawn on Wednesday and allegedly raped her there.
The young woman had gone to board a bus for Accra, after visiting a relative in Kumasi.
One of the managers, Obeng Junior, said the bar has rather become a tourist attraction.
He dispelled suggestions that security at the bar was poor, insisting he tried to rescue the victim but the assailant would not let her go.
Bawuah confessed to police in his caution statement that he had sex with the victim but denied using force.
Residents of Asafo, where the incident occurred, say Bawuah is a notorious armed robber who had been terrorizing them for some years now.
