Highlife Legend, Nana Kwame Ampadu has thrown a word of caution to the current crop of musicians to learn from the mistakes of their processors and not repeat it.

According to him, some old highlife artistes made so many mistakes in their career especially with regards to their finances and he expects the younger generation to use that as a guide to better their lives.

His comment comes on the back of an earlier advice to the young musician by another highlife giant, J.A. Adofo urging them to pursue money before fame.

In the view of Obouba J. A. Adofo, popularly known ‘Black Chinese’, concentrating on gaining popularity alone instead of money is a recipe for disaster in future.

He is said to have explained that though fame is sweet but it is important to money now that they are I the limelight.

But reacting to his claim, Nana Kwame Ampadu said that it all depends on planning.

The King of Highlife continued that some people get money in the industry but ended up as paupers due to lack of planning.

‘During our days, we were singing for the love of the job, not necessarily because of money but now everything is centered around money so I somehow side with my brother J.A Adofo if he says that but it should be always about money’ he stated.

He, therefore, advised the young musicians to invest the money they get from the music carrier so that they would not grow poor in future.
