Ghana's home based players have arrived in Nairobi for twelve days of camping ahead of the 2011 Championships of African Nations confident they are on the track to glory.
Herbert Addo and his team will spend time in the Kenyan capital preparing for the second edition of the competition reserved exclusively for players who ply their trade in clubs at home.
Ghana finished as runners up in the inaugural edition two years ago after losing the final against Congo DR and while Addo insist he has a side capable of going one step better, he has warned it will be a lot more difficult this time round.
Addo said: "Remember in the first tournament, there were two teams, now there are sixteen teams so this will be more difficult with more matches to play. But we will take it game at a time and we believe that we can win.”
Ghana is in the same group alongside South Africa, Zimbabwe and Niger. And striker Don Bortey is hopeful they can triumph this time.
"We were runners up the last time so for us the players we have to win to make our mark. I am happy to be going there. It is a massive tournament for those of us who play our football at home”, he said.
