Forty-seven suspected criminals were on Thursday rounded up by the Accra-North-East Divisional Police Command in Madina.
Speaking to the GNA, the Divisional Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Paul Ayittey said the suspects including a lady were rounded up at their hideouts at dawn from Adenta, Ashalley Botwe, Agbogba, Japan Motors, Legon, IPS and Madina.
The suspected criminals were drug peddlers, internet fraudsters and robbers.
The items retrieved included dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a lap top computer and implements used in breaking doors.
Commander Ayittey added that, all the suspected criminals would have their fingerprints and pictures taken for screening at the Police Headquarters to find out if some of them were wanted criminals and those found culpable would be prosecuted.
He said the exercise would be conducted regularly and would not be a nine-day wonder.
