President John Mahama swore in the second batch of ministerial nominees on Friday, January 24, 2025, following their approval by Parliament.
The approval came after a rigorous vetting process and extensive debates held on January 23 and 24 before the Appointments Committee.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Jubilee House, officially marked the commencement of their duties in critical government roles.
The newly sworn-in ministers include: Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, George Opare Addo, Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, Emelia Arthur, Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Ahmed Ibrahim, Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs and Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister for Trade, Industry, and Agribusiness.
In his remarks, President Mahama highlighted the significant responsibilities these ministers bear in advancing Ghana’s development agenda.
He urged them to prioritise transparency, inclusivity, and accountability in their roles, reminding them of the expectations of the Ghanaian people.
“Ghanaians have signaled zero tolerance for poor governance,” President Mahama stated, adding that the ministers must serve with dignity, respect, and an unwavering commitment to national progress.
