A 30-year-old vulcaniser has been sentenced to nine years imprisonment with hard labour for defiling a six year old girl.
The convict, Abraham Kwadwo, was convicted when he pleaded guilty to the offence.
Inspector Alfred Boatey told the court presided over by Mr. M.K.E Osam, that the victim, (name withheld) was a pupil and lived with her parents at Estate Junction near Kasoa while the convict also lived in the same vicinity.
According to him on Friday June 1, 2012 at about 8:00.pm., the convict saw the victim and sent her to buy him a sachet of water.
However, on the victim's return, Abraham held and drag her into his room, stripped her naked and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.
Inspector Boatey stated that the victim returned home and narrated her ordeal to her parents who made a report to the police.
A medical form was issue to the parents to send the victim to the hospital for examination, which proved that the victim has been defiled.
The parents later lead the police to arrest the Abraham and after investigations, he was charged with the offence and arraigned before court.
