Two people have sustained several injuries from a suspected thief, Michael Eduah at Nankesido, a suburb of Saltpond in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region after a failed attempt to steal.
The 20-year-old is said to have successfully escaped with a laptop he stole from one house through a window around 1:00 AM on Monday.
Speaking to Adom News, an eye-witness, Godfred Annan said the suspect went back to another house to steal a mobile phone and an undisclosed amount of money.
However, that was unsuccessful as the owner of the phone woke up and called for his arrest.
In an attempt to escape from the residents, Michael inflicted cutlass wounds on the phone owner and one other person when they decided to arrest him.
The angry residents manage to arrest the suspect and handed him over to Saltpond District Police Command while the two injured persons are also receiving treatment at Saltpond Government Hospital.
