Briama Isahaku, 26, has committed suicide after he reportedly shot himself in his room in the Sissala district of the Upper West Region on Wednesday.
Residents suspect he might have taken his life to avoid a possible legal suit after his wife reported him to the Police Domestic Violence Unit over an issue.
Richard Forgor of a local radio station in the area told Joy News the deceased survived a suicide attempt some five years ago when he had a protracted dispute with his wife.
In that attempt, he took some poisonous chemicals but survived the attempt.
