An illegal gold miner, Moses Agyabeng, has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in hard labour for defiling a 10-year-old girl by the Tarkwa circuit court.
He pleaded guilty.
Police Chief Inspector Florence Tawiah told the court presided over by Mr. Samuel Obeng Diawuo that on March 17 this year, the convict lured the victim into his room, defiled her and warned her not to tell anyone.
But when she got home her parents questioned her and she revealed her ordeal. A report was made to the police and Agyabeng was arrested.
