Police in Bawku in the Upper East region are looking for a middle-aged farmer suspected to have beaten his wife to death.
Her 30-year-old victim, Amida, died Thursday afternoon.
Police in the area are convinced her husband killed her because he was reported to have been caught attempting to bury her secretly.
The deceased was said to have suffered constant assault from her husband since they got married a year ago.
Her father Abulai Kasin tells Joy News he was just in time at the couple’s home to prevent the secret burial.
Bawku Police Commander ACP Kwaku Boadu Peprah who confirmed the incident to Joy News says he and his men have mounted a search for the suspect.
He said the body has been sent to the Bolgatanga Government Hospital for autopsy.
He however said there were “no much of assaults on the body” of the deceased.
