Members of the Juaso branch of Grace Divine Ministry are deserting the church in protest against the dismissal of Head Pastor of the church.

Close to 120 members of the church are calling for the immediate re-instatement of the embattled minister, Reverend Dr. Ernest Adu, describing his dismissal as ‘bizarre’ and ‘illegal’.

The 38-year old Rev. Adu was sacked for allegedly diverting money meant for the church’s headquarters for a local mission house project.
He is also accused of failing to attend the funeral of a relative of a colleague pastor.

Rev. Adu is said to have been searched in the full glare of his congregation after being accused of stealing mobile phone belonging to a senior pastor.

Church elders unilaterally agreed to spend an amount of one thousand three hundred Ghana cedis meant for the Church’s headquarters at Nkawkaw to support ongoing mission house project at Juaso.

This did not only infuriate National Executives of the church, but has also caused Reverend Adu’s job. He has been asked to vacate his official residence whilst his two month salaries have been withheld.

Church members have described the treatment meted out to the Rev. Adu as callous. In solidarity, they deserted the church en-block.
National executives of the church are worried over the development.

General Secretary, Nana Yaw Agyemang tells Nhyira Fm’s Wiase Mu Nsem program more than 75 per cent of the members have deserted the church, adding no compensation would be paid to the embattled man of God.

“For Grace Divine Ministry, Reverend Ernest has nothing good to offer us”.

Despite an 8-year meritorious service to the church as minister, Rev Dr. Adu goes home empty-handed, without any allowance.
It is suspected his insistence on the right thing being done and his quest to enroll in a doctorate degree might have created enemies for him in the church.

Rev. Adu tells Nhyira News there’s nothing he can do over the situation.
