Police in Kumasi are holding a 35-year old mentally-challenged man for killing two relatives at Abuakwa, near Kumasi.
Samuel Bawah had been discharged from the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital about a year ago and has been reporting every three months to the hospital for review.
He woke up in the middle of Sunday night and stabbed Sampson Bawa, a 25-year old mechanic apprentice, and Asiamah Bawa, 18-year old Senior High student.
They were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Hospital only to be pronounced dead on arrival.
Abuakwa District Police Commander, Superintendent Benjamin Wordui says the suspect has been puting up in the same room with the deceased for over five years.
Spokesman of the family, Stephen Bawa, tells Nhyira FM that until the incident the suspect had behaved normally.
He says the family is devastated by the tragedy. The suspect is due for court on Tuesday.
