The technical team of the country’s Olympic football team have been forced into reviewing the call-ups for the side after discovering some of the players on the initial thirty man list were over the age limit.
David Duncan and his technical team drew up their list of players who are presently in camp, published it and sent out invitations unaware that some of the names on the list will beat the age limit set by Fifa for the U-23 event.
Now about four players have had to be sent home by the technical team.
Team manager Sarbah Quaye says they discovered the players including Asante Kotoko’s Yaw Frimpong, Sampson Cudjoe of AshantiGold and RTU’s Atia Sumaila.
The Meteors are preparing for their All-Africa Games qualifier against Benin in April and the Olympic qualifiers under the coaching duo of David Duncan and ex-Meteors striker Maxwell Konadu.
