A former National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for Techiman North, Alex kyeremeh says the notion been peddled by NPP that Prof Mills cannot govern the country is a figment of imagination of NPP supporters who thought the NDC was a dead party.
Mr. Kyeremeh indicated that Prof Mills was more than capable of governing the country due to his experience as a former vice president, tax commissioner and law lecturer and asked NDC faithful to treat such arguments with contempt.
The former MP who was unseated by Prof Ameyaw-Akumfi, former Ports and Harbour Minister said this at the inauguration of ‘‘Hardin Kan’’ an association of NDC supporters in Zongo communities in the Techiman municipality.
‘‘All the propaganda unleased against the NDC by the then ruling NPP did not work and now the only thing they can say is Prof. Mills cannot govern’’ kyeremeh remarked.
Mr. Kyeremeh described the NDC as a stronger party that have gone through phases of problems to win power and asked the association not to turn themselves into pressure group to destroy the party through divisionalism.
Baba Awudu Gausu, Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Co-ordinator, lauded the contribution of zongo communities towards the party’s victory and asked the members of the association to help strengthen the party structures in their respective communities.
Mr. Unas Owusu, businessman and Assemblyman for Ahenbrono Electoral Area in Techiman, appealed to members of the association not to use the party’s victory as a platform to pay people who wronged them back but to reach out to such people to join the NDC party.
Alhaji Yusif Nashiru, Techiman South Constituency chairman of NDC entreated members of the association to comport themselves in public to enhance the reputation of the party in the area.
