The Ghana Tennis Association in collaboration with Nestle Ghana Limited would be organizing the Milo 14 & 16 Under Junior Tennis Championship Open from the 20th – 23rd December, 2010 at the Accra Sports Stadium Tennis Courts.
The Tournament would be a warm up to the ITF/CAT WEST & CENTRAL AFRICA 14 & 16 Junior Tennis Championship Qualifiers which Ghana is expected to host in January 2011.
A released by the Association’s Secretary General Emmanuel A. Sagoe noted that Registration opens from Friday 10th to Friday 17th December, 2010.
All interested players have been asked to present a birth certificate or a passport to show proof of age and register at the Tennis Secretariat at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Association also intends to commence its vacation tennis training module for all participants of the Milo Tennis Clinics from 28th December, 2010 to 14th January, 2011. This training module is a pilot initiative of the Ghana Tennis Association aimed at enhancing the younger player’s interest in the Sport whilst equipping them with requisite tennis skills and techniques.
This pilot programme will be a two-hour session on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and will start at 10:00 am each day.
All parents of participants in the Milo Tennis Clinics are to take note.
The statement reminded that the Ghana Tennis Association would be strict on proper tennis dress code for all tennis learners on court.
