The Minerals Commission will kick off their return to the JoySports Invitational Tournament with a tie against Piwak Natural Health.
The competition, which is Ghana’s biggest corporate sports event, will take place on Saturday, August 23, at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon.
It will start at 6:30 a.m. with a 5 km walk inside the University of Ghana, stretching to the Balm Library and ending at the stadium with an aerial aerobics session.

This year’s event, sponsored by the Minerals Commission, Ayuda Hub (Appa Baako, Services Beberee), Royal Sweet Limited (Akonor Ginger Afriwara), The Game Energy Drink (Feel the Energy), Yomi Yoghurt (A Nourishing Choice), The Luckiest *712# (Luck Is Everywhere), and Promoworld, will feature two football matches starting at 8 a.m. Host Multimedia Group will face Heritage Christian University, while La Community Bank will play Emigoh Ghana.
These matches will be played simultaneously, with one taking place inside the stadium and the other at the training pitch.
The track events have been divided into morning and evening sessions, with some coinciding with the football fixtures.
The Minerals Commission, whose mandate is to foster efficient and effective regulation and management of the utilisation of Ghana’s mineral resources through knowledge development, will be hoping for a strong start against Piwak Natural Health, winners of last year’s 5 km walk.

The Minerals Commission will compete in various sporting disciplines, including men’s football, the CEOs’ penalty shootout, ladies’ penalty shootout, women’s 50m dash, men’s 100m, tug of peace, sack race, swimming, 5 km race walk, tennis, and table tennis.
