Dr Kwaku Agyemang-Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minister, has appealed to assembly members to continually monitor development projects in their area.

This, he said, was necessary to address shoddy work and delay in the
execution and completion of projects by contractors.

Dr Agyemang-Mensah was interacting with members of the Ahafo-Ano
North District Assembly at Tepa as part of his visit to the area on
Tuesday.

The Minister also inaugurated a District Assembly-funded Principal’s
bungalow for the Anyinasusu Health Assistant Training School,
inspected a rural electrification project as well as a market project
for the Betiako community.

Dr Agyemang-Mensah reminded Departments and Agencies in the Assembly
that they should not work in isolation but always coordinate their
activities, saying the successful implementation of projects and
programmes was a shared responsibility.

“Our Agencies and Departments should take note that they are not in
competition with each other but are all partners in development and as
such, should share ideas and experiences to foster proper planning in
the execution of projects for the benefit of the nation.”

He appealed to assembly members to work harder in ensuring the
judicious use of resources and funds given them by the Assembly,
adding that it was also important that the Assembly remained fair in
the allocation and distribution of resources without any
discrimination.

Mr David Addai-Amankwah, the District Chief Executive (DCE), cited
numerous projects being executed by the government, particularly
construction of classroom blocks, provision of electricity projects,
markets and employment for the youth.

Ms Victoria Amoah, Principal of the Health Assistant Training School,
thanked the government for living up to expectation, saying the
bungalow had come at a crucial time as she had to travel long-distance
to work.
