Ghana’s Mobile Telecommunications leader, MTN has received three major awards at the recent MobileWorld Ghana Telecoms Awards 2013 in recognition of the immense contributions it has made to the development of the telecommunications industry in Ghana.
MTN Ghana got away with Best Telecom Operator of the Year, Best Business Service of the Year for MTN Business and the company’s CEO, Michael Ikpoki was adjudged Telecom CEO of the Year.
Last year, MTN walked away with Operator of the Year and CSR of the Year, but this year it has wrestled the CEO of the Year and Business Solution of the Year awards from Vodafone, while it lost the CSR of the year the latter.
The Awards is in the third edition organized by UK-based MobileWorld Magazine to recognize the contributions of mobile telecommunications companies and other ICT industry players to the development of the economy.
Group Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of MobileWorld Magazine, Akin Naphtal said the event was to celebrate the continued growth and success of the IT market place and to focus on exceptional and innovative performers within the industry.
The Corporate Services Executive, Mrs Cynthia Lumor who received the awards on behalf of the CEO of MTN Ghana said MTN was honored to receive the awards as they confirmed the leading role the company continues to play in the provision of relevant telecommunication services to Ghanaians.
