A District Court in Adabraka has cautioned family members of the murdered immigration officer, Stephen King Amoah, to exercise restraint and try to maintain the peace while seeking justice.
Abena Owusu Omenyo, the presiding judge, said the court understood the pain the family was going through, but an attack on the lawyer would not help.
She said the court did not want any family member to commit any crime because of the case.
She urged the family to focus on seeking justice for their loved one.
“If you commit a crime in the courtroom or court premises, you should be ready to go to Nsawam prisons,” she said.
The caution came after Mr Godwin Aboagye, who held brief, informed the court of how he was nearly attacked after leaving the courtroom at the last sitting.
Mr Aboagye urged the court to help talk to the family members.
He said it was not easy losing a loved one, adding, “I beseech the court to advise the family members to allow due process to be followed.”
Defence Counsel also asked the court to let the police disclose which police station the accused persons were being kept in.
Counsel said the family members did not know where the accused persons were being kept, so they could make some facilities available to them.
The accused ought to be given access to their lawyers, it noted.
Bright Aweh, also known as Highest Bright, the first accused, and Thomas Zigah, the second accused, have been charged with conspiracy to murder and murder.
The two have been remanded into lawful custody following the various roles they allegedly played in the murder of Stephen King Amoah, a personnel of the Ghana Immigration Service.
The court has preserved their pleas.
Amoah went missing on July 3, 2025, after leaving home https://www.obuxixogospel.com.br/ to meet Aweh at Ashongman Estates.
His body was discovered days later in a drain at Abom Junction.
Investigations revealed that the meeting was arranged following WhatsApp exchanges involving images of cash, allegedly to settle a debt.
Aweh claimed he gave Amoah GHC500,000 to pay off a debt and retain the balance, but inconsistencies in his account raised suspicion.
He was initially charged with kidnapping and later arrested for murder after the Police found a bloodstained camouflage fabric and a fufu pestle wrapped in polythene at his residence.
Zigah’s arrest followed weeks of investigations. Both men are now facing charges of conspiracy to murder and murder.
