Award-winning Ghanaian musician Afriyie has decried the seeming attention of the industry on a few individuals and musical feuds.

According to him, the development where industry players centre their energies towards some particular names makes it difficult for equally-hardworking musicians outside the said sect to thrive.

The former member of the duo, Wutah wishes to see a music terrain where equal opportunities are granted all personalities in the creative space.

The songwriter made these comments during a session on an online podcast, The Millennial Street.

He believes this move will inure to the benefit of the country on the international stage.

Afriyie, however, encouraged struggling artistes not to relent on their effort to churn out good music for the audience.

He believes the inadequate recognition should not cause them to rest on their oars but rather spur them on into producing sings that will end up as classics.

Meanwhile, Afriyie has released a new EP with authentic home-grown melodies fused with other contemporary sounds dubbed, ‘Ayalolo EP.’

The 5-song project has songs such as Hard Times, which comes in handy as it addresses current happening across the globe ranging from the protests against the killing of Black Americans in the US down to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Other songs on the project include, The One, Afro Jam, Lala and Rise Up.

During the 46-minute podcast, the artiste also shared his thoughts on the seeming surge in sampling in Ghanaian music, one of the reasons he describes his EP as an exemplary project to guide the path.
