On October 25, 2010, the world Reggae fraternity lost a great icon who was known as the ‘Cool Ruler’ Gregory Isaacs.
His death was rumoured to be as a result of addiction to liquor and hard drugs.
However, his son, Kevin Isaacs, who is currently upholding his father’s legacy, debunked the rumours that have stuck in the minds of Reggae lovers.
Speaking on Nhyira FM’s Reggae Train show with Natty Fyah in Kumasi, Kevin said his dad died of natural causes while he was under medical supervision in the United Kingdom.
Kevin Isaacs made his first appearance on the reggae scene at the age of 13 and has released several albums roping charts in Jamaica and the world.
He played with his father on many stages across the globe, including shows in some African countries.
Kevin expressed interest in collaborating with Ghana’s Afro-Dancehall icon Stonebwoy and also planning to have a show in Ghana and other African countries.
Reggae Train on Nhyira FM plays every Sunday, 10am to Noon with Natty Fyah as the host.
