NAHSAG unites ahead of Annual Delegates Congress

The National Health Students Association of Ghana (NAHSAG), says it has united its front ahead of its annual delegates congress.

The congress, which is scheduled for Friday, December 2, was earlier characterised by pockets of disagreements within the association.

But in a statement jointly signed by the association's president, Faustina Lovejoy Ayih and other leading members of NAHSAG, the association said the existing challenges have been cleared; making room a peaceful congress tomorrow.

The signees included the Vice President of the association, Rahim Balom Maasube; the NAHSAG Alumni President, Peter Worlasi Adanu Cardinal; the former NAHSAG President, Dr Frank Amoakohene and the former NAHSAG President, Franklin Nyanzu.

According to the statement, the association is now braced to progress in a unified spirit.

"Due to the devastating nature of the current impasse, there was the need for a serious stakeholder consultations and engagements to amicably iron out any differences that pervaded the association's front.

Subsequently, patrons, former NAHSAG presidents, bloc heads and the National Executive Committee of NAHSAG have met to extensively deliberate on the issues and finally smoked the peace pipe to allow sleeping dogs lie", portions of the statement disclosed.

"Currently, NAHSAG is united as its slogan chants and the association looks forward for the maximum cooperation of all members, bloc heads, alumni and friends of NAHSAG to help make the annual delegates congress a successful one", the statement added.

This year's NAHSAG Annual Delegates Congress is scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of December at the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) in Kumasi.

The congress will offer delegates an opportunity to elect a new crop of executives to lead the association, while deliberating on other pertinent issues relative to the activities of the association.
