The former Minister for Foreign Affairs, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has sent a message of sympathy to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni, the staff of the Ministry, and the government, following the fire outbreak that destroyed a substantial part of the Ministry on Wednesday. In a statement, Nana Akufo-Addo said “like all Ghanaians, I am deeply saddened about the loss of property, documents, and all valuables that help you in the running of the Ministry.”“I am aware what challenges this unfortunate incident would have on the functioning of your Ministry, but I confident that the Ministry, which has a good caliber of public service, will rise to the challenge and overcome these difficult times.”He called on all who are in negotiations with the Ministry, both home and abroad to “show compassion and be patient with the Ministry, as it tries to re-organize itself.”
