Residents at Brakwa in Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District of the Central Regional who thronged centres for the National Identification programme beginning today, were disappointed when the digital cameras for the exercise failed to function.
Some of the disappointed persons who spoke to the Ghana News Agency said as at midday the problem had still not been rectified.
Reports from two of the registration centres, the Food Chain and the Presbyterian Primary Centres, also indicated shortage of registration documents.
Some explained that the code numbers did not tally with the centre numbers, which made the programmed digital camera impossible to function.
An official of the National Identification Authority confirmed the problems and said a report have made to the District Officers of the Authority for immediate action.
At the Maternity Home Centre, the exercise could not start until about 1200 hours because materials meant for the place were sent to a different place.
At the Methodist Centre “A” the exercise came to a halt when the digital camera also developed fault after operating for some few hours.
The exercise which begins in the Central Region, would last for fifteen days.
