The National Insurance Commission (NIC) stands in solidarity with the Ghanaians and international community as we mourn the heartbreaking loss of eight distinguished Ghanaians who perished in the helicopter crash on August 6, in the course of their national duty.
This tragic event is a deep wound to our nation and a painful situation due to the absence of such visionary and selfless individuals. Their dedication, service, and unwavering commitment to Ghana will forever remain a guiding light.
On behalf of the Board, Management, and Staff, the NIC extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, government and all citizens grieving this immense loss. This moment touches us all, and we acknowledge the shared sorrow that stretches beyond individual families to affect the entire nation.
We take a moment to honour their legacy, a legacy built on courage, purpose, and an enduring desire to serve. Even in death, their lives remind us of the values we must uphold: integrity, sacrifice, and a relentless pursuit of a better Ghana.
As we navigate this time of national mourning, may we find strength in our unity, comfort in our shared memories, and renewed determination to live out the ideals they championed.
Once again, we extend our deepest condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, the government, and the people of Ghana, and especially to the families who have suffered this irreplaceable loss.
May their souls rest in perfect peace in the bosom of the Lord.
Sincerely,
Dr Abiba Zakariah
Commissioner of Insurance (AG)
