Citi News is reliably informed that some purported National Security operatives raided Tinguli, a satellite community which is about two kilometers away from the Gushegu Township on Saturday October 30, and arrested two suspected murderers.
Eyewitness accounted that the two siblings, Ziblim Bawa and Ziblim Amidu were arrested at 12 midnight but Ziblim Amidu managed to escape.
They were suspected to be among the killers of the late Nangilana Ziblim Abukari Sigli, a sub chief in Gushegu. He was allegedly murdered during a political clash between NPP and NDC supporters in 2008.
Since his demise, some suspected National Security operatives have carried out operations and arrested many suspects majority of who were released after a thorough screening exercise.
The arrest of Ziblim Bawa brought to four the number of suspects in police custody at the headquarters.
Members of the opposition New Patriotic Party in Gushegu have accused the National Security operatives of not being neutral in handling the situation. One of them, Ziblim Yamusah, NPP’s Communication Director for the Gushegu constituency described the one-sided arrest as “Political witch hunting. ”
