Constituency Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Eastern Region, have been advised to make the right choices to enable the party win Election 2012.
Mr Joseph Agbo, a member of the party’s communication team in the Eastern Region, gave the advice in an interview with GNA in Koforidua.
He asked the executives not to allow the love for money to dissuade them from choosing the right people to lead the NDC to victory in 2012.
Mr Agbo said: “If executive members would want to follow money and choose the wrong persons, the party will lose power come 2012.”
He expressed worry that some members, who never suffered for the party to win power, were trouping in with money to convince executives to select them as parliamentary candidates.
Mr Agbo said some of the aspirants had not stayed in the respective areas and were not known by the people at the grassroots.
He said that it would be difficult for NDC to win parliamentary seats with such persons as candidates.
Mr Agbo said if the wrong candidates are chosen to lead the party at the various constituencies, it might compel some voters to abstain from voting, which could go against the NDC in Election 2012.
