The Women’s Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anita De Souza, has dismissed suggestions by a leading New Patriotic Party (NPP) scribe that the ruling party has a penchant of negatively characterizing female opposition activists.
Feminist activist, Ursula Owusu, was responding to suggestions by Vice Presidential aide John Jinapor on Metro TV that some female politicians become successful through prostitution.
Mr Jinapor was rebutting suggestions by Madam Owusu that some NDC officials had completed their mansions within six months of assuming power.
But NDC Women’s Organizer Anita De Souza told JOYNEWS the NPP scribe got it wrong.
Madam De Souza however admitted that female politicians are often perceived negatively than their male counterparts, urging all female politicians to collectively fight to erase this perception.
