The Youth wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper East Region has reassured its commitment to ensuring peaceful elections before, during and after the December Elections.
Addressing a press conference in Bolgatanga, the Regional Youth Organiser of the Party, Mr. Clement Akasoba, urged all major stakeholders of the electioneering process, including political parties, Electoral Commission, security agencies and the media to ensure fair play, justice and equality in order to keep the integrity of the system.
He condemned the recent ban imposed against some ex-security chiefs from all military and police installations after they reportedly met with former President Jerry Rawlings.
Mr. Akasoba described the ban as unnecessary, unfortunate and an affront on the fundamental human rights of those ex-security officers.
He appealed to Ghanaians to consider the current “harsh” living conditions and vote the NDC to power to redeem them.
A former Upper East Regional Minister, Mr. Donald Adabre, now a leading member of the NDC, appealed to the electorate to make the right choice when casting the ballot in December.
