The 2008 flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom has blamed the party’s defeat in the 2008 elections on the behavior of some its key members.
Speaking to Joy News after addressing supporters in Tamale, Dr. Nduom said “our (CPP members') behaviour in the 2008 campaign showed that we were not together. Many people deserted, not just the presidential candidate but, the parliamentary candidates as well, to support other parties,” he lamented.
Although he failed to mention names of those he believes were the cause of the party’s electoral defeat, Dr Nduom is urging party delegates to vote for leaders who would unite the party.
He said “we are saying, this time around, let us elect an executive that will bring greater discipline, greater unity and ensure that we all work together.”
The CPP is preparing to elect constituency executives which will culminate in the election of national executives.
