Leader of the National Risk Communication and Social Mobilisation for Covid-19, Dr Dacosta Aboagye on May 29, provided an orientation on safety measures to NIA officials to enable mass registration to begin in the Eastern Region and a nationwide mop-up exercise.
The orientation focused on six main areas including respiratory etiquette like mandatory wearing of facemask of all persons before entering the registration centre, temperature checks which encapsulate mandatory checking of the temperature of all persons before entering the registration centre and hand hygiene.

Mandatory washing of hands with soap under running water for at least 20 seconds before joining the queue were part of the issues covered.
Members were also oriented on physical distancing, the keeping and maintenance of distance of 1-2 meter between individuals in a queue and mandatory hand sanitising before and after visiting the registration centre.

The Finger Print and Iris scanners to be used in the registration exercise will be disinfected after each use, according to Dr Aboagye.
Staff who attended the orientation were drawn from the Operations, Technology and Biometrics and the Corporate Affairs Departments.
