Ghanaian musician and producer Nii Soul will be releasing a love themed song on Valentine’s Day for this year's commemoration.
The song titled Proverbs 18:22 projects the beauty of real love.
Proverbs 18:22 in the Amplified version of the Bible states: “He who finds a [true and faithful] wife finds a good thing and obtains favor and approval from the Lord.”
Explaining the meaning of the scripture, Nii Soul told Joy Entertainment that the first part of this scripture indicates that a man shouldn't just go out to find a woman to make his wife but "a good wife".
“This means that also, as a woman, one must be "good woman" in order to become the "good wife'.
He further noted that the second part of the scripture (which is to “obtain favour approval”) can be fulfilled, after the first part has been established.
Nii explains that the recent DJs regard for marriage inspired him to compose this song so people will be encouraged to get into the institution and understand why they are in it. He also indicates that the song encourages people who have good marriages to let people know that the marriage institution is not as bad as it has been portrayed by some people.
“So God only approves of a "good wife" and not just any woman to be a wife,” he added.
Widely known for his velvety voice and unmatched vocal prowess, Nii Soul has other songs such as ‘Change’, ‘Oshe Baba’, ‘Odo’ and ‘Honeymoon’ featuring Kojo Kinn.
In 2022, Nii Soul (born Joseph Ankrah) released his first album titled ‘Forecast into the Past’. The album has songs such as 'Mata' featuring Prince Bright, 'Amazing Love' ft. MzVee, 'One Day' featuring Fameye and 'Crabs in Barrel' featuring Gasmilla.
Nii was the first runner-up in the second edition of TV3’s Mentor reality show. He was then called Joe.
He later took part in Project Fame West Africa with the name Nii.
Nii’s versatile cannot be overemphasized as he is able to quickly juggle between genres and styles if need be.
Before he became born-again, he had songs like ‘Monife’ and ‘Sunshine’.
Stream Nii Soul’s ‘Proverbs 18:22’ will be available on all major streaming platforms on Valentine’s Day.
