The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called for a nation wide suspension of political campaigns in honour of the late Minister of Finance, Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu.
In line with that, all regional and district party offices will be closed with flags flying at half mast.
Issuing the directive, the party chairman Peter Mac Manu says the move is a sign of honour to the family.
“The campaign machinery across the country, constituency, regional and district offices must be halted for a day in respect and honour of him.”
The late Finance Minister died at a South African hospital on Wednesday after a short illness.
Presidential candidate Nana Akufo-Addo told Joy news the death of Kojo Baah Wiredu is a great loss to the nation
“He was an exceptional man, the only man in our party without an enemy, he is humane and easily accessible, he is hardworking and will truly be missed.”
“The only tribute to him is for the party to win the elections in December in order to carry on with his good works,” he added.
Nana Akufo-Addo and other leading members of the party, have headed to Agogo, hometown of the late Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu to show respect and solidarity to the bereaved family.
