The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) John Mahama has accused Akufo-Addo of deceit after he failed to fully fulfil his 2016 manifesto promises.
Addressing the people of Bibiani in the Western North Region, he quizzed whether the policies of the Akufo-Addo government has been implemented.
“If you use deceit and lies to win power, your cup will eventually be full, have you received your 1-District-1- 1-Factory or your $1 million policies?”
The former president, however, stated that the NDC government does not make empty promises that cannot be executed.
He also said his administration speaks nothing but the truth and are honest in their endeavours.
Addressing the chief and people, he stated that “If we promise you of light we deliver, if we promise you of hospitals we build them.”
John Mahama recounted that during his tenure, his government was unveiling the completed developmental projects, unlike the Akuffo-Addo government which is still cutting sod for the commencement of projects.
According to him, the Akufo-Addo government asked small scale miners to stop 'galamsey', while he allowed his family members to continue small scale mining.
“We are all Ghanaians and we all deserve to benefit from small scale mining,” he said.
He assured the people of Bibiani he will change the policy and allow everyone to benefit and profit from small scale mining.
John Mahama appealed to them to vote him into power on December 7 to change the fortunes of the country.
