The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and some members of the Minority Caucus on Tuesday visited the family of Daddy Lumba to sign the Book of Condolence for the legendary musician.
The Book of Condolence of the Legendary Daddy Lumba was officially opened today, with some top dignitaries trooping to his residence to grieve with the bereaved family.
Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader, told journalists after the signing that Daddy Lumba was part of the NPP fraternity and they would do everything possible to give him a befitting burial.
“He was a source of inspiration to many through his music, and today the entire NPP leadership is here to show their support to the family.
“He has done his part and left, and God knows best. We are here to console the family on his tragic passing,” said the Minority Leader.
Mr. Justin Kodua Frimpong, the General Secretary of the NPP, also added how Lumba contributed to many campaign songs of the party that became hits.
“We have a very special relationship with him, so as a party, when we heard of his demise, we couldn’t have sat just like that to pretend that nothing had happened.
“So, we came here today to commiserate with the family, and I have already issued a statement to that effect,” he said.
The opening day of the book of condolences signed saw top personalities, including business mogul Kennedy Somuah Agyapong (Kenpong), J.A. Adofo, Becca, Kwabena Kwabena, and Kwasi Kyei Darkwah (KKD), among others, commiserate with the Fosu family.
