The Volta Regional NDC and its Youth for Action group has paid glowing tribute to Mr. Alfred Woyome for being a successful businessman and a politician who have time without number, made the region proud both nationally and internationally.
This they said, Thursday, at a press conference organised to address issues relating to the controversial judgement debt paid to the NDC sympathizer Alfred Woyome.
Conveyer of the conference, Mr Agbe Mawunyo wondered why critics, some of who are intellectuals would not use appellate court processes to resolve the matter but has rather resorted to using the media to attack the reputation of Alfred Woyome.
Mawunyo was also critical of the deputy Information Minister, Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa whose office he said has been too silent on the matter.
"Indeed the silence of the Okudzeto led Information Ministry is too loud and suspicious," adding, the deputy minister must apologise to the president for embarrassing him.
“…It is strange Okudzeto claims to be loyal to the president and yet, refuses to openly defend the stance of the president, same way as he is doing in this rather war of words with an NGO that has merely expressed its opinion on a certain loan being procured by government. We don't want to believe he is working with the NPP in this regard," he noted.
He further stated that the NPP must issue an unqualified apology to Woyome for victimising him and his business partners, adding that the NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo must also be suspended for being part of the Kufuor cabinet that illegally terminated a lawful contract.
Mr Agbe Mawunyo said the region is prepared with the last drop of its blood to support and defend Mr. Alfred Woyome in honour of their dying love for him.
The group said it is their hope that Alfred Woyome will continue to help the poor and needy in the region.
