The newly-elected Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu, has indicated that the party would work harder than before, to win 25 out of the 30 constituency seats in the Northern region in 2016.
He said the party was working vigorously to increase its electoral fortunes, especially in the Northern Region, and that the party secured 10 seats in the last elections, which according to him, improved as compared to previous performances.
“This means that our party’s popularity and strength in the region is increasing, saying “We are going to fill in positions and appoint people in various capacities to co-ordinate activities for the achievement of our goal,” he said.
Mr Naabu, who is a businessman, spoke to the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Tamale on Friday, and noted that the new executives would work hand in hand, and strategize effectively to return the shining political administration of the ‘NPP-Kufour’ government to save Ghanaians from the backwardness the NDC had plunged the country into.
“We are going to appoint a team for the Gonjaland, another for the Mamprugu area, and one for the Eastern Corridor, to organize and co-ordinate activities there to win more votes for the party in 2016”, he said.
He stressed that the people of Ghana would begin to see the fruits of their labour and feel it in their pockets when the NPP returns to power in 2016, assuring that the economy would be re-juvenated, to help Ghanaians to gallop into prosperity.
Mr Naabu said the unity course of the party was on-going, to bring together all those who lost in the recent regional elections, since the mission of the party was very paramount.
He indicated that the party was financially buoyant to shoulder all its financial obligations, and dismissed claims that the party was financially bankrupt.
He said many of the party’s enthusiasts have pledged to give financial support for the activities of the party, noting that more funds would be sourced from diverse places to cushion the activities of the party.
