The Krontihene of the Akyem Kotoku Traditional area, Obrempong Gyamfi Saforo Kyere II has threatened to burry alive, any person or group of persons caught digging the graves of departed chiefs at the royal cemetery.
Obrempong Gyamfi Saforo Kyere II said, some unscrupulous persons have in recent times, been digging and destroying the tombs of late chiefs at the royal cemetery and stealing royal ornaments that were used in burying them.
Obrempong who was speaking with Adom Fm correspondent in Akim Oda, described the behavior as embarrassing to the traditional area adding that, it is a taboo which will not be entertained.
“I have told Ophelia, (the MCE), I will also report it to the police, any person or group of persons that will be caught indulging in this unwholesome behavior will not be brought back home but will be buried alive in the very tomb he/she has dug,” the chief warned.
He also advised the persons who have resorted to mining within the parcel of land reserved as royal cemetery to desist from doing so, while directing them to seek permit and operate elsewhere but not in the royal cemetery.
