“Our nation shall rise again!” That is the hopeful declaration from President John Mahama as he expressed confidence in Ghana’s economic recovery, envisioning a future where the youth find opportunities and families thrive.
Delivering a sermon at the Good Friday Miracle Service organised by the Lighthouse Chapel International at the Black Star Square, he said the national restoration hinges on unity, truth, and the collective effort of all citizens.
He also urged Christians and people of all faiths to show generosity and compassion, particularly towards the less fortunate.
“There are many around us who are struggling, not just spiritually, but also physically. Some are struggling emotionally, and some are struggling materially, and that's why Christ expects us to share generously. There are others too who have abundant- you ate breakfast, you ate lunch before coming here, and you go back home, and there's fufu and lightsoup and aponkye waiting for you. We must learn to share the burdens of others, and so as we reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us, let us ask ourselves, what sacrifices are we making for others?
“I believe with all my heart that our dear nation, Ghana, shall rise again. Our economy shall recover. Our youth will find opportunity, our families will flourish and thrive. But that restoration will require that all of us work together in unity and in truth. That will make our nation rise again in”, declared President Mahama.
