The Paradigm Initiative's LIFE Legacy Digital Programme has commenced in Manhean in the Greater Accra to equip the youth in securing job opportunities.
The programme, the first of its kind in Ghana, aims to empower the young people in the area with entrepreneurial, life, and ICT skills to prepare them for the workforce.
Following the introduction of the Life Skills, ICT, Financial Readiness, and Entrepreneurship (LIFE) Legacy programme by the pan-African non-governmental organization, Paradigm Initiative (PIN), in collaboration with its partner, the Internet Society (ISOC) Ghana chapter, a significant milestone has been achieved with the launch of LIFE Legacy in Ghana. This marks the beginning of a transformative journey for the youth, providing them with the opportunity to embrace the digital era and unlock their potential.
The programme, currently operational in Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, and Zimbabwe, has positively impacted the lives of over 150,000 young Africans. Paradigm Initiative has made a significant impact and continues to positively transform the lives of young individuals aged between 14 and 24 years.
During the launch event, Ihueze Nwobilor, Senior Programmes Officer at PIN, emphasized that the training will equip young people in the Manhean community with skills to seize opportunities both within and beyond their immediate surroundings.

Targeting digitally under-served youth with limited access to skills and opportunities, the 10-week programme places a priority on youth with minimal or no access to computers and internet connectivity.
President of the Internet Society (ISOC) - Ghana Chapter, Mr Francis Acquah says, following these ten weeks of training, participants should be adequately prepared and equipped for the job market.
“After these ten weeks anyone who partakes in the course should be well equipped and ready for the market,” Mr Acquah, said.
The programme is designed to reach out to young individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds in under-served communities who lack the financial means to access relevant education and skills necessary for economic competitiveness in the digital era. Originating in 2007 at a modest cybercafé called Stadnet in Ajegunle, Lagos, Nigeria, the initiative aims to equip the youth with essential digital skills and link them to opportunities within the digital economy.
From 2007 in Nigeria and since 2017 across Africa, Paradigm Initiative has been actively engaged in communities, accumulating experience, fostering community trust, and nurturing an organizational culture that positions it as a leading non-governmental organization in ICT for development and digital rights on the continent.
Through its regional offices in Cameroon, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and beyond, the NGO has made a significant impact on the youth, improving their livelihoods through digital inclusion and digital rights programmes.
Paradigm Initiative has also developed online platforms that educate and provide safe avenues for reporting digital rights violations. These platforms, such as Ayeta, Londa, and Ripoti, utilize reports, short films, and educational content to achieve their objectives.
Moreover, the organization hosts the annual Digital Rights and Inclusion Forum, serving as a pivotal platform where discussions on digital policy in Africa are shaped, policy directions are debated, and partnerships are forged to drive action.
