The Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu today delivered Government’s 2021 Budget statement.
This comes after a letter from President Akufo-Addo to the Speaker on Thursday revealed that the Suame MP will present the statement to Parliament.

The presentation of the budget is normally done by the Finance Minister on the authority of the President.

This year, however, the change has become necessary due to the absence of the Finance Minister-designate, Ken Ofori-Atta who is seeking medical treatment outside the country for post-Covid-19 related implications.

In view of that, Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has been appointed as the caretaker Minister for Finance.
