Police in the Eastern Region have mounted a search for persons who fired gun shots at a community near Asutsuare.
They suspect the incident was prompted by renewed disagreements over a protracted land dispute. At least three people are reported to have been injured.
Some of the youth were reportedly quarrying some stones when a rival youth group attacked them.
According to Joy FM’s Eastern Regional Correspondent Benjamin Tetteh the medical officer at the Asutsuare military camp says one of the victims sustained serious gunshot wounds.
The Dodowa District Commander, DSP Kumeko, the police were preparing to tow away vehicles abandoned by the attackers to the police station.
He said the police were also working hard to rescue some believed to have been abducted by the attackers.
