Police in Tema have started investigations into the killing of a 61 year old man in Community 9.
Mr. Nii Kwartei Quartey, an ex-employee of the Public Works Department, was shot in the chest by armed men at his residence just before 6am on Tuesday.
His family said he was getting ready to take his bath when a knock on their gate attracted the attention of a young girl in the house.
Mr. Quartey, with only a towel around his loins, followed up on the call, and was shot in the chest.
The assailants sped off in their get-away Kia Pride taxi cab, which they later abandoned on the beach road near Sakumono.
The body has since been deposited at the Tema General Hospital Morgue, and police are questioning family members and another taxi driver who gave the assailants a hot chase shortly after the incident.
