Presbyterian Boys High School, Legon defeated defending champions, Achimota School 10-8 in the finals to win this year's Sprite Ball Inter-Schools Basketball Championship played at the Aviation Social Centre, Accra on Thursday.
The match saw the two teams displaying a lot of skills but it was the Presby boys who came on top as they led 5-4 at half time.
The second session also witnessed the same trend with PRESEC going further to score five more points against four by Achimota School.
On their way to the finals, PRESEC eliminated Labone High while Achimota also edged out SOS Hemier-Gmeenier of Tema.
PRESEC were presented with 800 Ghana Cedis and a trophy as their prize while Achimota received 300 Ghana Cedis with 200 Ghana Cedis going to SOS, Tema.
The event, which was organised by Rite Multi-Media, was jointly sponsored by Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana, Joy FM, GTV, TV Africa, Milicom Ghana Limited and Ultimate Phones.
Mr Yaw Sakyi, Chief Executive Officer of Rite Multi-Media said the event was aimed at developing the sport at the school level and to strengthen the cordial relationship already existing among the schools.
Mr Ekow Blankson, Trade and Marketing Manager of Coca-Cola Bottling Company expressed the hope that the company would continue to support the programme in the ensuing years.
