President John Dramani Mahama has assured the people of Anlo State in the Volta Region of accelerated development of the region before he leaves office.
The president said this when he joined the Chiefs and people of Anlo State to celebrate the 53rd Hogbetsotso Festival at Torho Du Me, Anloga in the Volta Region.
According to the President his National Democratic Congress (NDC) government is very much aware of the challenges facing the region, stressing his government is committed to solving all of them.
He said he will channel development of the region through the Southern Volta Development Authority (SEVODA) which has been in existence for many years.
He urged the different Ewe groups in the region to collaborate to facilitate unity and development of the region.
He congratulated the Ewes from neigbouring Benin and Togo who are still keeping in touch with their relatives in Ghana. He said these activities go a long way to foster unity and development in the West African sub region.
